I can’t believe Valentine’s Day is just around the corner! Our family will be making sugar cookies, having a family candle light dinner, and making valentines for each other. And our library picks usually include some fun reads to get our kids excited about the upcoming holiday. But sometimes it’s fun to read a holiday book for me. I always loved when our book club picks were spooky during Halloween or a fun Christmas read during December.
I was excited to read The Billionaire’s Sweet Valentine last weekend by Laura Walker. Reading is a great way for me to take a break from my responsibilities and enjoy myself. I usually try to read at least 30 books each year as a personal goal. You can check out last year’s reads here. The Billionaire’s Sweet Valentine is the 5th book I’ve read this year so I’m off to a great start.
This clean romance is about Penny Merrill, owner of a local sweet shop, who finds herself in trouble with her shop. She turns to her best customer Preston Armes in hopes he’ll help her enter a local contest. The problem is that the contest is for the cutest couple. She talks him into her crazy scheme (my husband says a guy will pretty much do anything for a pretty girl) and their adventure begins. You can’t but like Preston, an adorable commercial contractor. He’s handsome and has a good heart. Preston doesn’t really know how much trouble her shop is in, but can’t say no to her sparkling eyes.
The story takes some twists and turns that I don’t want to giveaway. I always like being surprised. And I love that this love story takes place in East Valley, Arizona. Since Arizona definitely holds a place in my heart. This book is a fun easy read and perfect if you like Hallmark movies! And with Valentine’s right around the corner it’s the perfect time to read this book.
