First of all, why did I wait forever to buy a tripod???
Seriously the best!. I was super excited when I scored this A-D-O-R-A-B-L-E dress from Gymboree’s Olivia Collection. Just another way to encourage reading. And it totally reminds me of Annie too! And I couldn’t say no to those tights either! I made sure to grab some red material for a skirt for me and bow ties for the boys. To keep it simple I used my Cheater Bow Tie tutorial and was able to make all three in just over an hour. ( Don’t mind our Christmas and Star Wars countdowns in the background.)
I love that we were able to coordinate for the Sunday before Christmas. If I had my stuff together I would have used this picture for our Christmas card. But that is the way life is sometimes. I have tried to send out cards every year. In 2009 I started listing everyone’s likes and dislikes to help family and friends keep up to date with our family. I went through and read them from years past and they made me smile! My boys have grown up so much. I thought it would be fun to share them with you. A great way to get to know my family. It is such a treasure to look back and see how they have changed. And how much some things have stayed the same. This tradition is a great way to document what is going on with your family.
And to make it fun I will throw in some pictures from last Sunday!
2009
Draco loves: Yo Gabba Gabba, eating crayons, playing drums, sitting in toilets, and giving hugs.
Hates: Eating vegetables and sitting on Santa’s lap.
Gandalf loves: Star Wars, reading cookbooks, singing for his pre-school class, playing with play-doh.
Hates: Cleaning his room and when Draco says the prayer.
Grady loves: Washing windows, playing X- Box, that Gandalf loves Star Wars, and singing in the OCMCO.
Hates: Doing his laundry and when his children aren’t wearing shoes.
Kristie loves: Taking pictures of her boys, family history, digital scrapbooking, dancing with her hubby, & her YW.
Hates: Cleaning, Laundry, and that her kids are growing up too fast.
2010 (I was reminded by Gandalf we don’t use the word ‘hate’)
Gandalf Loves: Kindergarten, reading, Lego Star Wars, nature, sharing facts, & his new baby brother
Dislikes: cleaning his room and having to wait until Saturday to play Lego Star Wars.
Draco Loves: Buzz, Star Wars, X-Box, Rockband, coloring on walls, singing, soft tickles, & baseball.
Dislikes: Veggies, the dark and acknowledging his new baby brother.
Yoda Loves: being talked to, sung to, kissed, swaddled, classical and church music, & being in his swing.
Dislikes: cold baby wipes & having to wait to eat.
Grady Loves: Star Wars, singing in Orange County Mormon Choir, video games, & snuggling.
Dislikes: That he always mixes up the boys names.
Kristie Loves: Reading, when Yoda smiles, watching her boys play together, family history & Oreo’s
Dislikes: Trying to get her boys to clean their room
2011
Yoda Loves: peek-a-boo, light switches, playing with brothers, Lion house Rolls, music , & Go Diego Go.
Dislikes: and being told “no”.
Draco Loves: treats, dressing up, soft tickles, jumping off furniture, Neon Trees, nursery.
Dislikes: vegetables, not being 6, & when we call him the wrong character he is pretending to be.
Gandalf Loves: reading, being in OCMCO, angry birds, reading nutritional facts, getting tooth fairy $.
Dislikes: changing activities and not being able to read all night .
Dad Loves: video games, singing in OCMCO with Garren, cleaning windows
Dislikes:
Mom Loves: her boys, craft blogs, family history, canning jam, reading & cub scouts .
Dislikes: the assumption strangers share that we only want more children to try for a daughter.
2012
Yoda loves: copying everything his big brothers do, dressing up like a superhero, being tickled, & singing. Dislikes: That he cant have a blood test or insulin shots like Draco.
Draco Loves: Preschool, singing in OCMCO, helping mom in the kitchen, playing with brothers, & drawing. Dislikes: cleaning his room and when people make up silly words to songs.
Gandalf Loves: Pokemon, reading, minecraft, making up silly words to songs, singing in OCMCO, & piano. Dislikes: Cleaning his room & limits on screen time.
Kristie Loves: Listening to her sons’ inside jokes and watching them play together, preserving memories, family history, Book Club, & trying new recipes.
Grady Loves: Washing windows, writing his MormonMediaReviews.com blog, & family time.
2013
Georgiana Loves: Being adored by her brothers, kisses, listening to musicals, nursing, & being swaddled.
Yoda Loves: Ninjago, helping run errands, Halloween, quoting movie lines with his brother & chocolate.
Dislikes: limits on screen time & not being old enough for The Millennial Choirs and Orchestras.
Draco Loves: Kindergarten, Legos, starting piano, choir, helping in the kitchen, singing, & talking to Georgiana.
Dislikes: Cleaning his room, when other kids don’t follow rules, low blood sugars, and vegetables.
Gandalf Loves: Pokemon, cub scouts, reading, video games (especially mine craft), choir, & being with friends.
Dislikes: Cleaning his room and leaving the Matthews house.
Kristie Loves: dressing Georgiana each morning, seeing her boys play, making Georgiana smile, reading & date nights.
Dislikes: That the boys won’t clean their room and that time doesn’t stop to hold my baby.
Grady Loves: Singing in MCO, attending BYUI online, helping in Kiwanis, & taking the boys to see movies.
Dislikes: Rainy weather on work days and the pressure to wear a speedo at the Mr. FV pageant.
2014
Georgiana loves dogs, shoes, jewelry, high fives, & kisses from brothers.
Yoda loves drawing & using tape, ninjago, library trips, & everything his brothers like. Dislikes veggies & not going to Sam’s club every day.
Draco loves chapter books, Calvin & Hobbes, back scratches, Minecraft, & asking if our next baby is coming. Dislikes chores, doing homework.
Gandalf loves reading, Minecraft, Pokémon, Cub Scouts, & playing outside. Dislikes chores & not having enough time to do everything he wants.
Kristie loves our new home, reading, family history, & creating.
Grady loves working at InfusionSoft, being in EVMCO, attending BYUI online & working on podcasts.

We are so thankful that Georgiana is healthy and progressing. Thank you for your prayers on her behalf. We love living in Arizona and seeing the Gilbert Temple almost every day. We are so thankful for this time to reflect and celebrate our Savior Jesus Christ.
2015
Georgiana likes: Singing, dancing, Elsa, doing things like mom, dressing up, nursery, lip gloss & running errands.
Dislikes: Leaving the house without wearing shoes & brussel sprouts. “They taste old mommy!”
Yoda likes: Preschool, library trips, playing outside with brothers, mom, Legos, drawing, & having a babysitter.
Dislikes: When Georgiana puts his Chewbacca or Perry the Platypus in her play crib to take naps.
Draco likes: Dark Lord Funk, dancing, riding his scooter, recess, back scratches, chess, emojis, & reading.
Dislikes: When kids don’t play fair on the playground, injustices of any kind & getting ready for school.
Gandalf likes: Reading, Pokemon, science, Cub Scouts, praying for the polar bears, & playing Gameboy.
Dislikes: Getting dressed for church & limits on treats.
Mom likes: That her kids like Harry Potter, sewing, creating, blogging, reading, & spending time with family.
Dad likes: That his kids like Star Wars, EVMCO, doing podcasts, and his new work team/position at Infusion Soft.
