You may wonder where I got the idea for Cookie Butter Rice Krispie Treats. I was thinking about how much I love the Cookie Butter from Trader Joe’s. And trying to find ways to enjoy this amazing cookie spread. Now if you haven’t tried Cookie Butter yet, feel free to drive to Trader Joe’s right now. I’ll be here when you get back. It’s amazing!!! When I first heard about it I was sure I would love it. I’m already a big fan of cookies and butter. My favorite way to eat cookie butter is with a spoon. But I was thinking of how I could use this delicious spread in my life and that’s when the idea (I’m going to assumed divine inspiration) of Cookie Butter Rice Krispies Treat was born.
My family LOVED them! My hubby wanted to know what amazing flavor was in our Rice Krispie Treats. I may I forgot to tell him about the Cookie Butter jars I have been buying. And I couldn’t wait to share this recipe with you. Have I mentioned how much I appreciate that you read my posts? Because I really do. I actually bought this jar in May when I threw my Mint to Be shower for my friend. Trader Joe’s also has amazing flowers. But life has been so crazy that I haven’t been able to make them till this week.
As usually my two year old daughter wanted to help. I love her desire to serve and help others. She is seriously a gem! And Rice Krispies is such a simple recipe. It’s perfect for her pitch in. She is especially talented at pouring, stirring, and licking. I love having my kids help in the kitchen. I’ve been meaning to make our favorite Bran Muffins recipe again. She is great at making muffins. But I’m pretty sure she enjoy these more.
And if you really want to go crazy you spread some extra Cookie Butter on top of your Rice Krispies. I know, I’m a bit wild.
And to make your life easier be sure to make them in the microwave. Saves time and clean up is easier. So not only did we make a delicious treat for my family to enjoy while I read scriptures that night, I also got to spend some quality one on one time with my daughter. And with time moving faster these days I need to seize these moments and make them count. If you have kids in your home make this recipe with them. And listen. Let them tell you all their thoughts and ideas. I know sweet memories will happen.
And I am happy to report that my picky eater ate some salad last night because he wanted another one of these treats. Good things happen when you combine sugar and butter. I know you’ll love this recipe! Be sure to spread the love and pin this recipe.
- 1/4 cup butter
- 12 oz bag of marshmallows
- 6 cups of Rice Krispies
- 1/2 cup Cookie Butter
- In a glass bowl, microwave your butter and marshmallows in 30 seconds. Stir with a spatula and keep microwaving until butter and marshmallows are smooth and melted.
- Add melted marshmallows and Cookie Butter to your large bowl of Rice Krispies. Stir quickly to combine the flavors.
- Transfer your mixture to a 9x13 buttered pan and use parchment paper to press down. Cut and serve when cooled. I like to put mine in the fridge to cool faster.
- Use a smaller pan for thicker treats.
