It’s the most wonderful time of the year! Having a dinner meal plan is even more important during this busy month of parties, shopping, and family traditions. Our family is so excited to give service and help others this month as we strive to share random acts of kindness. I tried to pick easy, comforting foods this month. In addition to planning out my monthly menu I also like to plan out our weekly Family Nights. Every Monday night is a special time for our family to gather, learn the gospel, have fun, and eat treats together. We have some Family Night Traditions we usually do in the month of December.
December 5th Mesa Temple Lights.
This free activity is perfect for families. We bring hot cocoa and cookies and walk around the beautiful decorated temple grounds. There are displays of nativities and uplifting music. It’s a great way to get in the spirit of Christmas. I know Salt Lake and Los Angles also have similar events.
December 12th Gingerbread Decorating
We love using leftover Halloween candy and decorating little house. This year I saw some Star Wars themed Gingerbread houses we might want to try.
December 19th Christmas Caroling
“The best way to spread Christmas cheer is singing loud for all to hear.” Since Gandalf was a baby our family has gathered with others and gone caroling. It’s one of my favorite family traditions.
If you need a Christmas morning breakfast idea be sure to check out these Cinnamon Rolls we love to make. I make them the night before and they are all ready Christmas morning.
And our very favorite Christmas tradition is acting out the Nativity on Christmas Eve. I share some our family’s Nativity outline, song suggestions, and costume ideas here.
Thanks so much for letting me share!!! I love this time of year. Please share in the comments YOUR family’s favorite holiday tradition. No matter what faith we have I know we can share our light. Follow along on social media to keep up with family adventures…
