And of course, I also love to plan my family night lessons. In the month of December we love to celebrate the season with some special family night traditions.
7th Visit the Mesa Temple Lights. We love visiting temples when they put lights up. We used to drive to LA when we lived in California but now we only have to drive to Mesa. It’s always a treat to see nativities and hear music and messages about our Savior. Both of these temples have Visitor Centers with great videos and artwork. They even have a nativity exhibit. I love seeing nativities from all around the world.
14th Decorate Gingerbread Nativities. Have you seen this cute idea? Instead of making a house, use your candies to re create the nativity. I love this little change in this tradition to focus on our Savior.
21st Christmas Caroling. “The best way to spread Christmas cheer is singing loud for all to hear!” Our family loves to go caroling together. It’s a great activity to do with other families too. Afterwards we head back to our place and have Hot Coco. This year we have a neighborhood FB page and I thought it would be fun to invite our neighbors too!
28th Family Game Night! We love getting together as a family to play games together.
In the month of December we strive to do Random Acts of Christmas Kindness to better follow our Savior. I know that as we strive to serve our family and others our hearts will be filled with charity, the pure love of Christ. To help keep your month focused on Christ check out the wonderful videos on this site. They are the perfect conversation starters to why this we celebrate Christmas.
Please share how your family keeps “Christ” in Christmas or how you let your light shine this month for Hanukkah.
