Are you ready for the fanciest party ever? We are just ecstatic (that’s fancy for excited) about sharing our Fancy Nancy party ideas! If you also have a darling daughter who loves all things fancy, this is the party for you. Since she was born she has loved shoes, jewelry, and dressing fancy. We have been planning this party for months, reading all our favorite Fancy Nancy books. We decided to have a Birthday Brunch, because brunch is the fanciest meal.
Fancy Nancy Food Ideas:
Our menu included mini cinnamon rolls, crepes, fruit cups, & french toast bites on a stick (everything is fancier in France). That’s why when I read about French Sodas I said ‘Oh-la-la! We need these for our brunch.’ Since our guests were mostly about 4 years old we kept the serving sizes small so everyone could sample every dish.
To dress up cinnamon rolls we made lavender frosting (lavender is a fancy name for purple) and added gold sprinkles. Don’t you love how sprinkles made everything instantly fancy? I loved putting the fruit salad in little cups because it made it even fancier. And be sure to click over to my friend’s blog to get her Honey Lime Fruit Salad recipe. Those little fancy spoons came from the Dollar Tree. Just because we like to be fancy doesn’t mean we have to spend a lot. Chocolate Croissants and Crepes are from France which makes them already fancy. Don’t forget the Nutella and whip cream for the crepes. And those little purple sticks in the french toast bites also came from the Dollar Tree.
Fancy Nancy Decor Ideas:
The decorations were so much fun! I picked up some sequin material from a discount fabric store to dress up the table. Keep your eye out for costume using the gold sequin material. Another fun DIY decor idea was to make colorful paper sequins! I loved being able to add tones of pink and purple. The bow bunting was made with my Silhouette. What’s fancier than bows and sequins?
These cardboard gems might be my favorite! A tutorial might be in the works. If it wasn’t for school starting I would have made more. I just love them. And I grabbed my doily bunting and large tissue flowers from previous parties (see here and here). It’s impossible to make a party TOO fancy.
It was a challenge of trying to make a large number 4 with balloons. But a fun challenge. Last year I made a balloon arch I for my son’s party. I wish I had made my four larger, but I still love it. Trying new things is always good for the soul. And we were so thrilled to celebrate that she is Four & Fabulous.
And the most exciting news! I had such fun making fun party printables from the gem bunting to syrup labels. I have created a Fancy Party Pack! This pack included treat toppers (which can also be used for cupcake toppers), party signs, cake topper, food tents, favor topper, syrup labels, straw flags, and Happy Birthday Banner. All these printables can be yours so you can throw your own fancy party or shower.
Fancy Nancy Party Activities:
Everyone was invited to come in their fanciest clothes. And our guests looked especially glamorous! Dresses, high heels, jewelry, crowns, and lots of hair bows. My favorite part: seeing their proud expressions on knowing they were dressed their best. Purses and boas make life more enjoyable. I also made sure to dress my fanciest, including long white gloves.
After enjoying our brunch we had some fun things planned. I think the kids loved using nice plates and fancy glasses during brunch. My daughter was in heaven. When our meal was done the kids were able to decorate Tiara’s (that’s a fancy word for crown). I don’t know about your kids but mine loves to be creative. And it was so easy! I just ordered these crowns for the kids. And picked up foam stickers and gems for them to decorate. I love seeing the creativity of each kid. I made sure to have some foam stickers that weren’t too feminine for the little gentlemen at our party. Also I grabbed them some mustaches so they could be fancy too! Seriously so easy thanks to Amazon!
Later we read a Fancy Nancy book, which the kids loved. Some of the younger girls weren’t familiar with Fancy Nancy. Then we had a fashion show where the girls could take turns walking down our ‘runway’ and doing poses. I loved the self confidence. And my 9 year old made a marvelous announcer.
Fancy Nancy Treat Ideas:
I was so excited about this girlie cake! This was my first time creating ruffles. You can get instructions here. I just used my favorite buttercream frosting. I also picked up some clear sprinkles that looks like glitter. Because we can never be too fancy! This giant gem from my Printable Party Pack for a cake topper. Simply tape it to a wooden stick. You can also embellished the gem by adding some glitter. My daughter was so excited when she saw her cake!
I also made some chocolate gems with this candy mold (but I wish I grabbed this one) to create a perfect party favor. You could also add a ring pop to make it easier. This treat topper (included in the Party Pack) would also make a great Valentine.
We would love to say ‘merci’ for reading all about Fancy Nancy party ideas. If you haven’t introduced your kids to these darling books I would suggest you give them a read. I love how Nancy shares her love for France and her large (and fancy) vocabulary. And there are some really touching morals from these books. Sometimes I get a little emotional when reading them. (Disclaimer: I’m a big softie). Be a darling and be sure to pin this post! Merci!
