Do you love Newt Scamander as much as I do? I knew I wanted to make a Fantastic Beasts Valentine when we watch Crimes of Grindwald in theaters. Our family is a big fan of all things Hogwarts. (Click over to see our Harry Potter Posts) And Newt Scamander totally reminds me and my hubby of our oldest son.
Our oldest Gandalf has Asperger’s and is simply brilliant. Sometimes he has a hard time reading social cues. But I love him and the way his brain works! When I shared this line with him he started cracking up. I can totally see my son giving a compliment like this someday.
And hopefully, like Tina, she will get it. And him. I thought these would make a great valentine for him to pass out. He wasn’t sure if anyone else would get it. I told him the other option was My Little Pony ones I made. He told me he’d take the salamander ones.
I love when Newt is talking to his friend Jacob and telling him how Tina’s eyes are like salamander’s. Jacob warns him NOT to say that to her, no matter what.
This would make such a fun Fantastic Beasts Valentine! I couldn’t find salamander candies so I opted for a traditional heart. I know jr. high kids always love getting candy. And I’m hoping I can convince my son to pass them out. I gave out valentines every year, but I’ve always been crazy about holidays.
I think it’s great for my kids to pass out valentines. It’s a great way to build friendships and show love. It doesn’t have to be romantic love. We strive to teach our kids to have charity and show love to everyone.
