These Grinch Cinnamon Rolls might just be our newest tradition! Ever since my daughter was born we have watched How the Grinch Stole Christmas with darling Who-hair. Have I mentioned how much fun I’m having with my daughter? Usually I style her hair like Cindy-Loo Who from the animated cartoon. Her fine, blonde hair was perfect. We just needed black pipe cleaners. But now that she a little older we were able to have some fun with back combing and braids.
To make things a little more exciting we decided to invite other Who-girls and their moms to join us. I love when we can organize and have girl time together. But with the holiday I wanted to keep things simple. We emailed an invite and invited her friends and their sisters and mom. And to be honest, my boys were pretty upset. My oldest informed me that guys like brunch too! I think he might still be mad about my last Galentine’s Day Brunch that he wasn’t allowed to attend. My hubby joined it in the unfairness, just to get them going. And then reminded them we don’t get to go camping when they have fathers and sons camp out. Plus I promised to save them some Cinnamon Rolls.
We planned on having a brunch because nights are so busy in December. There are concerts and work parties and family get together’s. The plan was to have a potluck brunch and watch the cartoon together. I guess if you wanted to make it longer you could do the Jim Carrey version. And potlucks are so much fun because you never know what someone is going to bring. You could have nothing but muffins. And that would be great. We actually had a great variety of french toast, fruit, muffins, donuts, cookies, and popcorn munch. And it was so fun to see everyone’s Who-hair!!!
The night before we attended the Yule Ball at Barnes and Noble. It was amazing! But we didn’t get home till 10:00 pm. And our Brunch was scheduled for 10:00 am so I pretty much had 12 hours to put things together. Oh, and to sleep. Nothing like waiting to the last minute. Bottom line this party can be thrown together in no time at all. And these Grinch Cinnamon Rolls are so easy! Just throw the ingredients in your bread maker on the dough cycle (or in your kitchen aid with your hook) while you clean up your house. Then roll out your dough and add the cinnamon and sugar, slice, and let them rise overnight. Just use food coloring and these sprinkles.

We woke up and pulled out some plates, tablecloths, and cups. I threw some garland on the table and made room for the other potluck items. I’m pretty sure I did both of our hair in like 25 minutes. Usually I use empty water bottles to help keep hair high, but we were in a hurry. Some of my friends suggested empty toilet paper rolls. In years past I have also used balls. We chatted, took pictures, and eat amazing food. Then we watched the Grinch. Little miss Georgiana got a little scared, but was so happy when his heart grew 3 sizes that day! I love the beautiful message that Christmas is more than gifts.
