Another new year! And I am still trying to organize my home. I love this time of year and the kick I usually have to create order after a holiday season. I’m a little late with my meal planning for this month. But being late is better than not doing anything at all. I love meal planning by the month. It helps me feed my family a variety of meals and not just the same old standbys. I can also be more intentional by utilizing leftovers to make meals easier. Having a plan and posting it on my menu board really helps me with dinner every night. Nothing worse than realizing at 4:00 that you didn’t pull out meat from the freezer or that you should have started some french bread in the morning.
I know my friend Jenna over at Mom, The Intern shared her resolution for cooking for her family more. Click over as she shared tips to help with her goal of cooking more and eating out less. I hope by sharing my menu plans that you can have a place to come when you need dinner ideas. If you still need ideas you can always check out my dinner menu tag.

In addition to planning our dinner meal ideas I also like to plan out our family night lesson ideas. Have a schedule and a routine for our weekly lessons helps me switch it up and also work on family goals.
January 1st- Making goals! Our tradition is to record and help our boys set goals for the coming year.
January 8th- For The Strength of Youth- Physical and Emotional Well Being (my oldest will be teaching this lesson)
January 15- Scripture Story. We love acting out scriptures. Right now we are working on stories from the Old Testament.
January 22nd- Conference Talk- Repentance is Always Positive
January 29th- Family History Activity
We are also trying to be more intentional by planning date nights in advance. We are working on a 10 day course to strengthen our marriage. Strengthening our marriage is just one of the goals we want to make this year. You can receive your free 10 day course book here. You can find fun date ideas here. I know planning dates helps nourish my marriage and let my hubby know he’s important to me. They also have fun kid dates, something we try to do monthly. Each month we take turns with having two one on one dates with our kids. The following month we switch kids. So every month our kids are getting at least one fun activity with at least one parent.
I would love to hear your dinner ideas. Or feel free to share concerns you have with family dinner time. Thanks so much for reading. And don’t forget to pin this post!
