A new year means a new start. Making family dinner a priority is a great goal. And it doesn’t need to be overwhelming. And it doesn’t need to be homemade. The most important part of family dinner is eating (preferably healthy) and being together. Connecting is an important part of family dinner.
So if your family is looking for more connections, let’s start with dinnertime. Turn off screens and talk to each other. We love to share our favorite thing that happened that day. Ideally we would also share a challenge we had or someone we helped, but with 4 kids we often don’t get that far. Family dinner conversations help kids and adults listen and talk to each other. I know your family will become closer as you strive to make family dinners a priority.
And if these dinner ideas help take out the stress of meal planning and that 4:00 time crunch, it would make my day. I know I’m better at cooking dinner when I have a plan. Not to mention the money I save. So let’s get cooking.
