I’m so excited about this fun Graduation Gift idea! Years ago someone posted this idea that at the end of the year you ask your child’s teacher to write a little note inside the book Oh, The Places You’ll Go. Being a sucker for traditions and all things sentimental I decided to give it a go. I had to track down some previous teachers, but I started a book for my first born. I just love this idea! It’s so fun to read through sweet messages from previous teachers. I know when Graduation happens I want my children to remember all the teachers who helped make it possible.
Gosh we love amazing teachers!!!
Flash forward years later and I realized I needed some help. And especially with my son in junior high. Now that I have several children in school I decided to make a fun printable to explain this idea to my children’s teachers in a discreet way. My kids have no idea that I’ve been doing this for them. And I love sharing my printables in the hopes of making things easier for you!
Simply print off this letter and write your child’s name in a fat marker. (I’ve often seen other moms dropping off books at the front desk) I drew an arrow towards the back and continued a note to the Jr. High teachers. I listed all his teachers (along with check boxes) and asked them to pass it on. Be sure to give them time to fill it out. I know teachers in the higher grades have more to do with finals.
I now have 3 books to manage but it’s totally worth it! And there is still time to make it happen this year. Just order a Oh, The Places You’ll Go here so you won’t be stuck like Michael Scott with Green Eggs and Ham. (Anyone else love Amazon’s two day shipping?) And print off this paper to help you get your notes in a more discreet fashion. And to let the teachers know I really appreciate their extra time to do this I made a simple treat tag.
I grabbed gum from the dollar tree to make these easy thank you tags. I love attaching gum with these glue dots. So easy. Just order, print, and drop them off at the front office. And if you need to catch up with some teachers, no problem. I really hope my kids love this gift when it comes time for graduation.
LOVE this idea, but it isn’t for you? No problem! This post is not meant to make any moms feel bad! Only to help moms by offering this easy printable. If this idea isn’t for you don’t give it a second thought. As moms we know what’s best for our kids. And we know we CAN’T do everything. And as a parent I don’t want to give them everything. So know that you are doing an awesome job!
Share the love and pin this idea! And I would love to hear YOUR favorite Graduation gift in the comments.
