Our family is really enjoying the #LightTheWorld 25 acts of service. I love letting go of non essentials as we strive to focus on what is more important- serving others. Today’s prompt is “Thou shalt love they neighbor as thyself”. Last night after our scripture study we read this verse and talked about who are neighbors really are. We believe that everyone on earth is considered our neighbor.
But with that being said I love an excuse to get to know our neighbors even better. And throw in some service (my love language) and you have a fun activity. That’s when I came up with this fun activity where you could have a Service Scavenger Hunt. Scavenger hunts make everything more fun. I created this fun printable for you to help out your family. It’s so easy!

Just print and cut in half. You could divide your family in half and have a race. Or race against another family. Having to serve each neighbor (remember you can only do one act of service per home) helps you to break the ice with your neighbor and makes it easy to spend some time with them. What neighbor isn’t going to want to help you with a game? Plus when you serve others it’s always more fun than doing house work at your own home.
Service doesn’t always have to be big. Just reading a book or sharing a joke can offer friendship. And I left a space open in case you see a need your neighbor has. This game would be perfect for a family night activity. And you can do it all year long and not just during the #LightTheWorld campaign. It would be fun as a youth or family activity.
I hope this printable makes serving and getting to know your neighbors a fun memory. You can even have them sign for each chore completed to help you remember their names. Writing things down always helps me remember.
Does your family have a fun way to serve and love your neighbors? If so please share it below! And check out our free water bottle printables in case you missed our last #LightTheWorld post.
