One of my favorite things about summer is catching up on my reading. And I am here to share my summer reading suggestions. I don’t know about you, but lack of schedule makes reading a higher priority. And if you remember my 2016 Goals I want to read at least 30 books this year. Finding out we had to move really threw off my planned 2.5 books each month. I’ve only read 9 books so far. And most of those were audio books with my kids while we traveled back home to California. Despite our weekly library trips I really need to pick up the pace.
So here is my Summer Reading List I hope finish by August:
- The Summer Before the War by Helen Simonson– After reading this recommendation from my book loving friend Edie, I decided I needed to check this book out. You can read her review here.
- These is my Words: The Diary of Sarah Agnes Prine – I forget who recommended it, but it’s on my list. And it’s been there far too long.
- Nightingale by Kristin Hannah– Another recommended book that takes place during the war. I’m surprised how much I am enjoying books like this.
- Eligible: A Modern Retelling of Pride & Prejudice by Curtis Sittenfeld– You had me at Pride and Prejudice.
- Blackmoore by Julianne Donaldson– Loved Edenbrooke so why haven’t I read this book yet?
- A Tree Grows in Brooklyn by Betty Smith– Borrowed this from a friend when I was moving for Book Club and I still haven’t read it.
- Princess Academy by Shannon Hale– I heard this series is really great and I was excited to find a copy at my local thrift store.
- All But My Life: A Memoir by Gerda Weissmann Klein– Recommended by Blogger A Slice of Style.
- Bossypants by Tina Fey– Because life is better with Tina Fey.
- Regency Buck by Georgette Heyer- Georgette Heyer is one of my favorite authors! I love her Regency Romances. They are quick and easy and always make my heart sigh.
So here is my summer reading list I hope to tackle. Do you have a favorite book? Share it in the comments below! Always on the look out for more books to read…
