I love going to Thrift Stores!!! It’s kind of my favorite. And with our new home I still to find some things we need. We recently bought a house with a loft. And it’s one of my favorite things about our place. No more toys in the bedrooms. This really helps keep the rooms clean. Well, now the loft needs to be cleaned. But it’s an improvement. When we moved I promised my hubby I would try and down size some of our stuff. I ended up selling my small table that I got for $2. I still wanted a table for my kids. I loved our previous table. It really helped my daughter with physical therapy. She would work on walking from her kitchen to the table.
And then I saw this table! Granted it was a bit pricier. I think it was $8. I love that it was bigger. Sometimes at our family tea parties our previous table would get a little cramped. (The trick to getting my boys to dress up and attend them is real cookies. I share my tea party recipe here) It’s didn’t have any chairs, so I am still on the look out. I found some adorable ones from Target. They were only $80 for the pair. So almost in my budget.
I loved how sturdy this table is. My older boys sometimes sit on it while they play Minecraft. But I wasn’t crazy about the color. I love black, but I wanted to use this table along side my daughter’s pink kitchen. I decided to paint white with some chalk paint I had. And just to make it more personalized I did the legs in some mint I had on hand. That’s the beauty of scotch blue tape. Now I just need to make some pink and mint curtains for the kitchen to bring it together.
My little girl absolutely loved it!!! And it looks great next to the chest I redid with the same mint color. That chest is perfect for holding our dress up clothes and light sabers. I’m so excited for the tea parties we are going to have with this table. And it will also be a great base for our next Lego creation. Or a place to roll out play-doh and create culinary cuisine. Pretty much our possibilities are endless.
