I love the end of the year! It’s a great time to review and make new goals. One favorite thing I like to do is the pick my favorite blog posts for 2018. It’s not about page views or how many pins I got for that post. I love reviewing my work as a blogger and thinking about posts that mean the most to me.
So here are my favorite posts of the year. I would love to hear what post YOU liked the most. (Even if it didn’t make the list)
This blog post has helped me during the year. I printed out easy family night ideas and put them in the jar. It makes it so easy to throw together a family night. You don’t always need to do a lot of prep to have a fun and effective family night. Click over and get about 40 free family night ideas.
2. Teaching Kids to Do Their Laundry
I love not doing my kids laundry. Well, I guess I’m still doing my 5 year old’s laundry. But we are working on getting her ready to do it herself. It’s a great life skill and so easy to teach natural consequences. You didn’t do your laundry? I guess you are wearing dirty clothes. My life is easier and it gives me more time to do the things I love, which include spending time with my family. Click over and get some ideas to help free up your time as a mom.
3. Creating a Family Mission Statement
I love our family Mission Statement! It gives us purpose and unifies our family. And creating it was half the fun. I loved getting input from every family member. This would be an especially great thing to do in the beginning of the new year. I love reading our statement and thinking about our goal and purpose in our family.
4. Light The World Family Service Cards
Our family loved trying to Light the World this past December. And these fun and free printables were my favorite. Really you could use them anytime of the year. These simple cards encourage family members to give secret service and to keep paying it forward. I love using my blog to help others Light the World.
5. Cherry Cobbler and Family History
So this was an old post that got updated with new pictures. But I still wanted to include it. This is a favorite family tradition in the Kerr home. On the birthday of each of our grandparents we celebrate and remember them by eating their favorite dessert and telling stories about their life. My kids love it! And they are remembering their great grandparents better. I share an easy cobbler recipe and talk about family history traditions.
6. Mother Daughter Spa Day at Home
This was such a fun day with my daughter. I love spa days! And since she’s not old enough to come with me we thought we would bring the spa to our home. This would make for a fun party idea. My daughter discovered she loves the spa. This was a fun memory and we already plan to do it again.
7. Free Summer Reading Log Printable
Summer reading is my favorite. And we love taking advantage of the reading program at our local library. This free printable is perfect for tracking your reading. That’s the hardest part of the reading program. I earned a free book, lunch, and a AZ park pass for a state part,. Plus this post has book suggestions for kids.
8. Cookie Butter Ice Cream Recipe
This is probably the most delicious recipe I’ve ever created. It’s seriously amazing! You may have noticed quite a few cookie butter recipes, but this one takes the cake. And it’s so easy! You have to try this amazing recipe!
It’s seriously so fun having a daughter! We have been reading the Amerian Girl books together since last year. And I was thrilled when she wanted to have a American Girl Tea Party. It was a dream!
10. The Last Jedi Family Halloween Costumes
My favorite post of the year was our Last Jedi Costumes! This wasn’t our first year doing Star Wars (won’t be the last). We had so much fun taking pictures with Photography Hill. We needed to document are epic costumes. Halloween is pretty much my favorite.
I would love to know what post is YOUR favorite. Share it in the comments below. It’s great to look back at the ways I’ve tried to keep our family more connected. And be sure to let me know what YOU want more of from this blog.
